Scope and website information
The information on this website has been compiled with the greatest possible care. Neither the site owner nor the publisher accepts liability for damage resulting from using this information or from changing, stopping or adapting treatment without professional advice.
These terms form an integral part of every treatment agreement between the dentist, including employees acting on the dentist’s behalf, and the patient. They apply to every treatment and estimate.
Third parties
Tandartspraktijk Mathenesse may engage third parties when providing treatment. We select these parties carefully and, where reasonably possible, consult the patient beforehand, except in relation to locum practitioners and dental technicians. Tandartspraktijk Mathenesse is not liable for the conduct of these third parties.
Treatment and information
Patients must provide all information and documents the dentist reasonably considers necessary, on time and in the requested form. Additional costs or treatment costs caused by delay or incomplete information are payable by the patient.
The patient is responsible for the accuracy, completeness and reliability of information supplied to the healthcare provider. Consent rules are governed by applicable Dutch healthcare law. Before treatment, the dentist explains material aspects, alternatives and risks so that the patient can make an informed decision.
Costs and appointments
Treatment costs, including technical and material costs, are payable by the patient regardless of whether they can be claimed from or reimbursed by an insurer. Costs for minors are payable by their legal representative.
Unless stated otherwise, fees are calculated according to the dental tariff list and general provisions established or approved by the Dutch Healthcare Authority (NZa). Changes to these tariffs and provisions are reserved. Read our explanation of dental tariffs, treatment estimates and payment to understand expected costs and invoices.
If you need to cancel an appointment, including because of circumstances beyond your control (force majeure), please cancel at least 24 hours before treatment. Only working days count towards this notice period. Assuming there are no public holidays, cancel a Monday appointment at 10:00 by Friday at 10:00. Cancel a Friday appointment at 10:00 by Thursday at 10:00. If you do not cancel, or cancel too late, the practice may charge for the reserved time and/or the agreed treatment. Force majeure does not automatically exempt you from these charges. The practice decides whether to waive them on a case-by-case basis.
Before extensive treatment above €250, the patient or legal representative receives a written cost estimate, including relevant technical and material costs. The dentist will provide timely information if the treatment plan changes, complications occur or the estimate is likely to be exceeded.
Billing
Our invoices are processed by Infomedics. When applicable, Infomedics submits the invoice to the patient’s insurer first and invoices the patient for the amount that is not reimbursed.
Digital invoices are generally sent by email with a payment link and options such as iDEAL, one-off direct debit or online banking. Tandartspraktijk Mathenesse cannot guarantee timely receipt or processing of email or other electronic messages and accepts no liability for consequences of delayed or failed delivery.
Complaints
Our dentists are members of the Royal Dutch Dental Association (KNMT).
If you believe you were treated or informed incorrectly, or have a billing concern, please discuss it with us first. A direct conversation often resolves misunderstandings.
If the discussion does not produce a satisfactory outcome, contact the practice so we can explain the applicable complaints route. Our complaints procedure for dental care explains how to discuss your concern and request independent mediation.
